Using the Curved Tile Mount as an Alternative on Flat Tile Roofs

Quick Mount PV's Curved Tile Mount requires no adaptation to work on flat tile roofs whose tile dimensions fall outside the range prescribed in the Flat Tile Mount installation booklet (standard or lightweight 12" x 17" flat concrete tile roof system with "exposed" surface width between 10-3/4" and 12" wide, and a length of 17", +/- 1/2").

The two lag bolts and cast aluminum mounting plate have been engineer tested to 2993 lbs. average pullout and 691 lbs. average shear. They work in unison with a peel-and-stick sub flashing to seal out the rain at the sub-roof level.

The oversized flashing allows a great deal of lateral flexibility in positioning the mounts – handy when it's required by local code to bolt the mounts directly into a rafter.

Follow the regular instructions in the Curved Tile Mount installation manual, omitting the section that advises bending the flashing to match the tile; leaving the flashing flat in this case will usually work best in flat tile applications.
